Adapted from the novel of the same name by Gerald Green, which was published three years earlier, the story concerns a television journalist (David Wayne) who chooses to profile his uncle's (Paul Muni) battle to bring medical care to the impoverished streets.
Paul Muni gives a very good performance in his part as Sam Ahelman, the doctor who is dealing with life without co-operation. He suits his role very well and this would be the last time Muni would be on the big screen.
