A faithful adaptation of something that loses a bit of itself in being adapted - in seeing Faraday objectively, you see that he's a complete prick from the get-go, as it's far more obvious than when you're in his head.
Worth watching for its phenomenal cast, but it's not as though I was here for anything besides its phenomenal cast. (Ruth Wilson. I'm here for Ruth Wilson. And as always, she's incredible.)
I do love that despite Sarah Waters not intending her as such, Caroline Ayres is a sterling example of an incredibly repressed lesbian. The repression is palpable. Please somebody get this poor woman a hug, a therapist, a ticket abroad, and a girlfriend, in that order.
