Though heavily edited and completely different due to the dubbing, Tattooed Hit Man has a vibe like Scarface, compared to say Jingi Naki Tatakai being like The Godfather. Ginji is a mad dog and we see him spiral out of control. None of his relationships can anchor him, his rage overtaking his code. There was no shortage of violence or sex in this edited film, either. The dialog is wild, and I garnered a new appreciation for Jack Sholder, the dubber and editor for this film and many other Toei English dubbed movies from the 70s. Highly recommend in a trash cinema sort of way.
Luckily for us, New Line released an HD remastered, wide-screen streaming version of this movie, rendering it's mega rare full screen VHS irrelevant.
