Abstract, psychotic, and nonsensical, but extremely fucking fun in a way that proves George Miller is just the absolute king. I did NOT know anything about this movie going into it and there’s literally not one aspect I was expecting. Jack Nicholson saying “I always like a little pussy after lunch” felt like a Sixth Sense-level twist. As did the absolutely horrifying ending!!!
Jack Nicholson looks like I tried to draw a political cartoon of Steven Seagal from memory. Direct line from his performance here to Jack Black’s career. Cher, Sarandon, and Pfeiffer are so hot in this movie they’re hurting my feelings. If Susan Sarandon ever gave me the eyes she's giving Jack Nicholson I’d be storming the Capitol…
Michelle Pfeiffer in this movie may be the most attractive a woman has ever looked.
i can't believe this iconic masterpiece of cinema only has an average rating of a 3.2 on letterboxd smh
EDIT: 2020 AND WE FINALLY GOT IT TO A 3.3 THIS IS A WIN FOR LESBIANS
If you told me that in the 1980s Jack Nicholson was actually the vessel for Satan I would 100 percent believe it.
Also, everyone looks great in this movie but Michelle Pfeiffer in those glasses is the most attractive a (white) woman has ever been.
Curly hair for days, cherry puking, over indulgence, Veronica Cartwright, magical tennis, jacks sleaziod ponytail, voodoo dolls, growling satan, ice cream goo, three queens owning the screen, church freakouts, and Jack Nicholson at his most disgusting—dialing up the Devil with that very specific Jack charm. I love the John Williams score, the entire setting, and if you ask me... this is easily some of George Miller’s best work—containing everything I’d want from a witchy New England atmos jam. I feel like it’s a sin that people flock to Hocus Pocus over this movie... that movie is fine, but this movie is awesome!
It’s also a damn sin that this doesn’t have a solid blu release here in the states... that dvd is terrrible and that double feature disc with Practical Magic isn’t anything to write home about either... this should have a collectors edition or something.
“Men are such cocksuckers, aren’t they? You don’t have to answer that. It’s true. They’re scared. Their dicks get limp when confronted by a woman of obvious power. And what to do they do about it? Call them witches. Burn them, torture them, until every woman is afraid. Afraid of herself, afraid of men, and all for what? Fear of losing their hard-on. Let’s play some music.”
Since meeting Jack Nicholson my life has never known peace. The following day, snakes started manifesting in my house physically.
jack nicholson really says, “i like pussy after lunch” not ONE HOUR into this film
THIS MOVIE IS TOO POWERFUL. CHER. SUSAN SURANDON. MICHELLE PFEIFFER. JACK NICHOLSONS FINE ASS I JUST LOVEEEE

jack nicholson o primeiro esquerdo macho poliamoroso hollywoodiano.
I hadn't watched this since it first came out (34 years ago!), and I was worried it wouldn't hold up. It does. And I think it has really improved with age. The four leads are fantastic and the film is wonderfully subversive. Just don't think I'll be eating cherries again for a while. :)
i will be two weeks past my second dose of pfizer on may 10 and i will be suckin and fuckin as much as these ladies on that date
