A newly-married man must retrieve some lingerie with his initials in the lacing from his ex-lover's place before his wife gets wise. It's always a delight to stumble upon a small film such as this that is such a big delight. It's got great slapstick, screwball, and darkly comic elements to it that all blend together perfectly like a triple-braided rope. The three lead players, Dennis O'Keefe, Gail Patrick, and Marjorie Reynolds, all have wonderful chemistry and charisma. Patrick is the real star of the film as the vampish woman threatening to go public with her affair with O'Keefe if he doesn't tell his wife. She gets all the nasty, fun lines and she holds herself regally over everyone else in the film. She's marvelous. And even the usually annoying Mischa Auer does some good work here.
This was a very fun treat to stumble upon. Recommended to anyone looking for a good, screwy time.
