Iceland's submission to AMPAS for Best Foreign Language Film
Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir gives a tremendous double performance as both the main character, Halla, and her sister, Ása. The story is compelling, the filmmaking is lucid, and the cinematography is stunning.
In a world where big business is taking over, Halla takes non-violent measures to sabotage the perceived enemy. Her actions are still considered illegal, but it opens up a huge dialogue to viewers. They can choose not to support the big businesses that are destroying the culture and economy and that can be a great start to address issues like corporatism and climate change.
