Bill Dana, a New York City playboy, can't resist the flaming flappers and red-hot mamas along the Great White Way, so he decides to head out west to his uncle's ranch in Wind River, Texas. But the gold-diggers and their relatives follow him.
Such a light hearted affair out west when a city slicker tries a new life. Perhaps not the most prestigious role of Richard Dix's career, but he goes with it. Mildly fun, but that's it.
Nostalgia's not what it used to be...
The source material is probably rooted in post-WWI anxieties about masculinity and fear of effeminacy. But that doesn't prevent the film from being a solid comedy about the actual contemporary west (not nearly as wild as Molly's fantasies), and Bill's romantic attempt to hide the modern conveniences and cosplay an idea of ranch life--straight out of the latest Hollywood western.
