    The Lion King

The Lion King is fine I guess. With an animated masterpiece for its blueprint it was never going to be a complete disaster. It’s enjoyably fine but not completely necessary either.

Decent CGI can’t compete with the animation. The animals look almost photo real but they lack the vibrant life & character of the original. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner & (when he isn’t singing) Seth Rogen do a good job of injecting their charisma into fresh versions of their characters at least.…

    A Quiet Place

Horror is in a good place at the moment. Blumhouse are producing multiple hits a year, Get Out was a massive critical and commercial hit and even an Oscar winner.

    Now comes A Quiet Place.
One of the best films of the year so far!
The tension starts from the first frame and doesn't let up for the tight 90 minute run time.

Sound is a huge element of this film in every way. The sound design is brilliant from…
