The sequence where Aunt Bella dies, and then the funeral with Taika Waititi's cameo, is some amazing film making. This sequence is particularly fantastic to watch with an audience. All three times that I have seen it, the entire theatre is completely somber when Aunt Bella passes away, and then when Waititi starts talking there are a couple laughs, and then all of a sudden everyone is laughing. It is a very interesting feeling of conflicting emotions, and the entire audience goes down, and then comes back up together. It is impressive to see how much power a director has to control the emotions of an audience, when they know what they are doing.
