    Night Fishing

    ★★★

Longer than necessary and not that exciting but the fact that it was shot on an iPhone 4 is incredible.

  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

    ★★★★½

Weakest of the original trilogy but not by that much to be honest. I think to have a much darker film in the middle of the trilogy was a very smart decision. Also, the way people talk about Temple Of Doom you’d think it’s much darker than it actually is. There are some brutal scenes but overall it’s a great adventure film with ultimately a happy ending and it’s quite funny at parts to. Ke Huy Quan as short round…

Of course I have to rewatch all the Indians Jones films before dial of destiny. Raiders is perfect, would not change absolutely anything, in my top 4 for very good reason, the best adventure film of all time and Spielbergs best (which is really saying something.) I sort of see the first three Indiana Jones movies in the same light as the original Star Wars movies- they were both a very big part of my childhood and feel like the…

  • Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

    Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

    ★★★★½

Of all the new wave of multiverse films in the last few years this is easily my favourite. Also the best Spider-Man film bar Spider-Man 2. They somehow took everything that was so great about the first one and elevated it even further. If the third one is even better this has the potential to top the dark knight as best superhero movie trilogy definitely. The wait till March 2024 is going to feel so long but I can not wait. These films are the superhero genre at its most inventive.

  • Casablanca

    Casablanca

    ★★★★½

On first watch you can tell why this film is so timeless. It’s very obvious that it still has so much influence today.

  • Sicario

    Sicario

I’d say the film is just good up until the last half hour where it becomes some of the best stuff Denis Villeneuve has directed. I wouldn’t say it’s one of his best (the competition is very tough) but nonetheless a very enjoyable film.

  • La Jetée

    La Jetée

    Experimental but unbelievably dull.

  • 12 Angry Men

    12 Angry Men

    ★★★★

Some of the best acting I’ve ever seen and really makes you think how many cases have been accused falsely just by not enough careful looking at evidence.

On another note, jury service has a hell of a lot to live up to now.

Hard to think of a film that deals with the same themes of this film in a better way.

The ending of persona on acid.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

    ★★★★

Unquestionably the best MCU film since Endgame. This really had the marvel feel of films made in phase 3. I know a lot of people say that superhero films lack heart and that is very true of the MCU past phase 3 (with the exception of wakanda Forever and NWH) but this film felt quite special.

Rocket, as has been said so many times about this film, is the best part about the film. His backstory is maybe the m…

  • Apocalypse Now

    Apocalypse Now

Seeing this in 1979 only 7 years after the war ended must have been insane. More of a horror film than a war film and the direction combined with the cinematography really gives the whole thing a major nightmarish feel. If you’re not counting Schindlers list I’d say this is the best war film of all time. Also, I was expecting this to be stylistically quite similar to the Godfather because they were pretty close together and obviously both by…
