Lyzette’s review published on Letterboxd:
Killer Joe is an absolutely filthy movie. Very few characters - perhaps none at all - are particularly likable, generously submerged in a tale of greed, decadence, and immorality. Even more, the film as a whole is captured in a very creepy, eerie mood, overtly present in a few particularly unsettling scenes, and heightening as the film progresses. Nonetheless, I can greatly appreciate it for exactly what it is: a rather aesthetically and formally pleasant film about completely unpleasant subjects. Great performances permeate the screen, and really make its putrid circumstances worth the watch, often with a share bit of pitch black humor. And I love the ending.
