All the reviews I read and all of the previews I saw were kind of a turn off, but man that was some good stuff.
Every single scene with Ben Safdie was a masterpiece. I'm not one to give out 5 stars very easily (extremely rare when I do), but this film is a very strong 4.5. Iggy Pop's body-chilling song at the end reminded me of American IV: The Man Comes Around my favorite Johnny Cash album. The song was the best way they could have possibly ended the movie, such a broken soul.
Adding this to my favorites of 2017 list is going to be difficult, because I am quite torn between this and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. I think I like Billboards better.
