Warren’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is the first time I've come back to this movie since understanding what it means to be a Golan Globus film, and boy... what a treat. This movie, as a sequel to its predecessor, is such a weird thing. I loved it as a teenager for the humor and over-the-top violence, started to appreciate the commentary on sexual politics in my twenties, and had not yet watched it in my thirties. Now, having seen the Electric Boogaloo doc and (I think) having read about Hooper's reluctance to make a sequel and how that shaped it into the weird beast that it is, my appreciation for this movie has only grown. From the perfect Breakfast Club parody artwork to Dennis Hopper's screaming, chainsaw-wielding madness, this bonkers follow-up to one of the scariest horror films succeeds at all of its goals, however different they may be from those of the original.
