SXSW Film #5
We got in line 3 hours early expecting Pete Davidson to be in attendance so we wanted good seats, but he ended up not showing up :(
That’s okay though, I still ended up really enjoying the film. The entire cast is pretty good and had great chemistry (they seem really close in real life, which translated well on screen).
I did feel that the narrative lacked a solid focus / direction which in turn had my attention and engagement constantly shifting. However, the sense of paranoia between the group of friends was a lot of fun to watch as it quickly grows out of control.
What sold me the most was the film’s final reveal - or punchline honestly - which brought the entire film together in a humorous, clever way (although not entirely unpredictable, it’s still fun).
