Lady Bird ★★★★★

I went into this film sorta expecting to relate to lady bird. but then it started and I was like "hmm. not so much I guess"

shit was I wrong. It just took a minute.

I don't think I've ever connected to a character on a level quite like this. i have the relationship christine has with her mom, except mine's with my dad.

christine hates her home town (or at least says she does), I hate my home town (or at least I say I do). I've literally called my town "soul sucking" before.

christine wants to go to New York for college. I want to go to New York for college.

christine is a senior in high school desperate to fit in. I'm a senior in high school, playing the part of fitting in, but not quite doing it.

christine is attracted to kyle. I sure as HELL am attracted to kyle, as well as the "kyle's" in my own life.

i could go on, but aside from the parallel life I'm living to christine's, this movie was also beautifully made. I laughed my ass off. I got in my car and cried my eyes out. Lady Bird didn't touch my boobs, (because it respects me so much, it loves me), but it touched my heart. and I can't wait to let it do it again, if it wants.
