I liked the scene where the soldier was talking about his girl and the girl ended up being a dog. I liked how it didn’t solely focus just on the battle, and it also showed the lead up to the battle. I thought the interview scenes during the end credits were interesting too.

In the beginning, I thought I remember reading that everyone at the outpost will die. So, I thought that meant that no soldier would survive the battle.

Also, I realize that this movie was most likely approved by the US military.

I wonder how accurate the story is and if the dad and the sons in real life met by pure coincidence that occurred at the perfect time.

Man, I feel like I need to watch this movie again. I was confused while watching the movie before knowing Ivan is Trevor and Trevor accidentally killed a boy. I also did not know that there are shots of Trevor at a healthy weight! I wonder how much time was in between getting the shots of when Trevor is healthy to when Trevor is super skinny (he is super skinny for the vast majority of the movie).

The only reason I watched this is because I am trying to watch as much of Christian Bale’s filmography as I can.

I thought this movie was pretty good! I love how it was filmed and mostly took place in Lowell, MA; Lexington, MA was featured as well. I really loved seeing Dicky say no to drugs by handing the cake to his drug buddies and walking away. I also like seeing the real Dicky and Micky during the end credits.  Christian Bale won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor from this movie, and he is the only reason I watched this…
