John Cawthon’s review published on Letterboxd:
Majestic in its simplicity but also heartbreaking in its complexity, American Honey is a true American gem from the fabulously British Andrea Arnold. The runtime of this film is daunting, but every shot felt needed so I was never bored. I could've done without the "It feels like I'm fucking America" line. It was just too on the nose. But that's a tiny blip compared to everything else. Sasha Lane and Shia "King" LaBeouf are so electric together and Riley Keough's monotone turn was so spot on that I didn't even recognize her. All the others who round out the crew are flawless as well. They're all raw and unafraid to go there. Perfect casting is perfect.
