Possibly the first "feature" to be shot and released post-pandemic, and tbh, I really enjoyed it. While the bare bones plot leaves some to be desired, I feel like watching this is akin to visiting a haunted house, you're not really there for the story, you're there for the scares. And at a cool 56 mins, I'm totally okay with that. Also it's way better than that Unfriended garbage (don't @ me).
Props to Rob Savage. His short film Salt is one of the best horror shorts (& I mean short) I've seen in a while.
The OG giallo slasher, beautiful babes meeting their demise in a variety of fashions (no pun intended) by a shadowy killer in black leather gloves. 🧤🪒
‣ Argento is always known for his color scheme, but boy can Bava really light a dame's death.
‣ creepy, velvety red mannequins are cool.
‣ that sexy ass theme! 🎺🥁
‣ also a sexy ass cast, even Cameron "Tums Festival" Mitchell.
‣ needs more blood, and black lace. Yeah, the title…
Unravels like a spool of film dropped straight from the sky. It could be a bit tighter, but as a freshman effort, it's basically a banger. Mirrors, Meth madness, and Bill Oberst Jr. with a French accent, smokin' some kinda homegrown red weed. It's also pretty funny, and a good story!
Would pair well with Jamin Winans' The Frame.
