A New Zealand fairytale
Taikia Waititi once again blows me away in this absurd, wild, and querky comedy set in the NZ bush.
Sam Neil and Julian Dennison act, insanely well. Two outsiders, one traditional and one contemporary, are forced into a hilarious run for survival in a encounter filled comedic network of Mother Nature. Hilarious dialogue, action, masterful shots and jargon.
It took a while for me to suddenly get the message on what the knack really meant for our characters, but once I did, it worked miraculously.
Shit just got real.
