The Nice Guys is a wonderfully set and scripted action comedy that really shines through the chemistry between the traditional buddy private investigators, Crowe and Gosling. It's OK when they don't share the screen, but the entertainment value is elevated once they're both on stage. Furthermore the interaction of Goslings daughter with the plot is truly magnificent.
Apart from some moments it's not always absolutely hilarious material or delivering laughing out loud outbursts, but the love and commitment for the genre oozes from every second and the thought through script keeps the proceedings very amusing till the very end.
"And you are?"
"In a hurry."
What a great line.
