“I look like I fuck. And that’s the vibe I like to put out there”
Always tough when the movie falls short of the promise shown in the trailer. I guess I was hoping for a more ambitious statement then some teasing about gen X terminology, but that’s as deep as we got. At points it felt like we were building to something more but it would peter out with some jokes every time. I guess the ending was a twist but it basically lost all re-watchability for me.
On a brighter note, Rachel Sennott is so charismatic and funny that she’s the star of the movie every time she’s on screen. For a rather subdued performance I thought Maria Bakalova nailed it, and I did get a kick out of the time we had with Pete.
At the end of the day I was just disappointed after having such high expectations. Not a bad movie but not one I see myself revisiting soon.
