If you were ever wondering if the image of a lamb’s head on the body of a one year old girl could carry a movie…this is your answer.
Unbelievably gorgeous visuals anchored by three very solid performances. I’m not sure if the ending was satisfying at all but the journey there is a hell of a time. I couldn’t stop laughing at the central image. It’s too good and handled so well.
Also anytime you have animals “acting” in your movie I instantly buy it. The scene where the momma sheep has her hybrid child taken away from her for the second time by a species that she does not understand and this momma sheep instinctually knows this is her child but can’t comprehend the fragile human state or why they would even want the peculiar creature for themselves…
It’s heartbreaking. I cry.
