Beau Is Afraid 2023
Was surprisingly engaged throughout most of it, even enjoying it and thinking ok nice job Ari, keeping it mostly grounded and well-paced despite some meta touches (that I didn’t even hate all that much)… but then oh god but then what could’ve been a great (actually touching) capper with the beautiful lovely parker posey, who could make up for any flaws in anything, is completely undone by turning into the exact movie I was afraid this was going to be. dumb pseudo profound monologuing try hard surreal shit. Makes me wanna puke.
