it lives inside features some really creepy demonic possession scenes, but overall this was mostly flat and despite its 100 minute runtime, seemed to drag on.
however - for being bishal dutta’s first feature film, this is INCREDIBLE. the premise is unique and meaningful; i applaud any film that combines horror+religion n gets it to flow nicely (the nun series i’m not looking at you.) can’t wait to see what he creates next.

i think the lack of dialogue added a unique touch to the film, and honestly- makes sense considering the theme is aliens. it’s meant to be visually striking and that, it is! features some really futuristic, creepy shit. i’m in love and this is truly how i believe aliens would act if they ever make contact w us 😭👽
this is one of those films where you find something you didn’t notice during each rewatch. the passive aggressiveness between danielle (rachel sennott) and maya (molly gordon) is the best thing EVER. rachel is so good at awkward comedy it’s insane.
