I saw this movie 3 days ago and i am still not quite sure what to make of it. Part of me wants to love it, the other part of me wants to tear it apart and hate it for the cinematic mess it is.
So first things first (no spoilers):
It was way too long. You can cut out 20-30 minutes of the film and it would have had the perfect length. You´re asking what i would cut out? The entire subplot with Finn and his new partner Rose. There were "moments" in this plot that were pretty enjoyable, but overall you can skip it entirely.
The CGI. You´re asking why? Yeah, the CGI was well done 99% of the time, but the scene with Leia (you know what i´m talking about) is just aweful. I hate bad CGI....
And last but not least the atmosphere. Most parts of "The Last Jedi" are really dark and grimm, but there is also a large amount of unexpected und inappropriate scenes in this. And i don´t mean the cute creatures, but more the behavior of the characters.
But hey, maybe i am too picky, because overall i liked Episode 8 and was surprised by the twists and turns. But it´s a middlefinger to every fan-theory whatsoever.
