Gabriel Gundacker’s review published on Letterboxd:
I liked laughing and crying at this movie. So many of the farcical lines confidently hidden behind really wonderful acting. Adam Sandler is so damn good in this, and while I think obviously he stands out because it's so exciting to see the star of 'Pixels' act like that, he's still incredible. Second incredible was Candice Bergen's monologue. Score was great too, I get why Spencer texted me about Randy Newman being very good the other night, at the time I was like "wtf why are you texting me about Randy Newman midday?" Randy Newman singing "Everybody Dies" with the same heart-breakingly optimistic brevity of "You've Got a Friend" was the perfect summation of this nice weird family movie.
