Ryan’s review published on Letterboxd:
I think I should rewatch this with subtitles because my audio-processing-issues ass couldn’t understand a some of the dialogue but man is this film everything.
The Lighthouse is like if you wrote a top-tier episode of The Twilight Zone as a full length feature film for mature audiences only. DeFoe and Pattinson give such amazing performances that I didn’t know it was them until I look it up on a bathroom break. Conceptually, the film is very similar to The Shining, although it stands up entirely on its own merit. There is so much to interpret and process that my mind is already racing and I can tell it will stay that way for a quite some time. It’s honestly difficult to get my thoughts down at the moment
