it gets the "contemporary movie that didnt make me depressed" extra half star bonus, but its sad that a current film (i know its 8 years old at this point i've seen like less than 30 films made since 2014) could only do this by being a very successful nostalgic emulation of a time when movies looked good. nevertheless it did manage to capture that goofy and bumbling quality early technicolour and 60s/70s sexploitation flicks have without ironing out the…

serviceable, not too hagiographic. what does "manufacturing consent" mean as it was espoused by chomsky? the title delivers on its promise. interesting follow-up to the adam curtis doco i last watched in its form as a documentary for one thing and initially intrigued me bc which curtis posits cybernetics as a kind of falsified dogma shaped by commercial interests chomsky is into cybernetics but also an anarcho-syndicalist; the documentary opens with these facts but its focus directs it away to my mind from more interesting contradictions or underlying tensions in his personal brand of anarchist libertarianism

it's hard to know how to begin or even articulate the depth of my feelings on this one. my friend rum told me it was fantastic and because she is a genius i was sure it would be true but i could never have imagined what was to come. the experience of watching it was so singular i couldn't NOT give it 4 stars.

this is with no contest the best drag comedy i have ever seen. this film is…

what a romp, spirited along by that trademark pure prince impish, expansive bisexual flirtatiousness. playfully abstract and expressive with race, gender, culture more generally, and even geography. such a funny script. like a queer black reinvention of "a design for life"... though prince and jerome benton have delightful electric chemistry, prince and kristen scott thomas not so much... she has better comedic performances later in her career but couldn't bring the energy here. god prince is a sexy cunty little bitch... when hes straddling her in those heels in that damn car..... a precious a singular genderqueer visionary
