That’s a nice argument but my muscles are bigger than yours
My top 4 are my favorites from previous month
This film has been roaming in my head rent free since I saw it months ago. Except for some pacing in the middle portion, I don’t think this actually has any flaw. This film is genuinely just something else. Very hard to put into words. Doesn’t even feel like a film tbh. I really don’t know how to describe it. One of the best writing and best dialogues ever put into film. Will be relevant even from a hundred years…
Memories is the most obvious theme here, but what I find really interesting is how the themes of relationships and parenting are encountered here. Having the same actress play the mom in childhood scenes and the wife in present day was a very smart choice. The traditional village woman (mom) is taking care of the house and kids, while craving for her husband to come back safe from the war. The modern day woman (wife) is divorced from her husband and living with her son without his father. One wants the husband back and the other wants the husband away.
