Galen’s review published on Letterboxd:
They got so many things right, e.g. Chinese American film centered around people who can actually speak Chinese! The cultural tropes were spot on (foot massager, asking about girlfriend, "try this cake, it's not too sweet!"), and pacing and humor were great.
But the ending escalated a bit too quickly and felt disjoint from the beginning, a bit rushed. It felt like there was some implied deeper meaning, but it was a little too weak for me to feel anything more than entertained the end. But I thoroughly enjoyed this.
