Brendan Michaels’s review published on Letterboxd:
We'll meet again
Don't know where
Don't know when
But I know we'll meet again some sunny day
I wish I could say something, but words are meaningless with something this strong and powerful. A love lost, and the pain and travels of trying to express such a lost love through art and wondering how to keep it in while at the same time traverse the roads of romance without hurting yourself once more. The neon techno aesthetic of Chow's "2046" starts as escapism but slowly turns into autobiographical work, love can only come when you let go of the past, but that is easier said than done, and in some cases, impossible. Hope the next time we see Wong Kar-wai isn't in 2046.
