I may be biased but Iovvvvvved Tony Leung Chiu-wai in this. Even when he’s going on and on with exposition, I couldn’t keep my eyes off this man. Saved this movie for sure with his performance and presence.

Damn I wish I really liked this film... dialogues not good, predictable story telling and unintentionally funny, cringy moments.. the characters aren’t very likable and the film felt longer than The Handmaiden which is over a hour longer. Park Chan wook’s heart wasn’t in this project.. didn’t feel genuine like his Korean films. Oh well

A masterclass of suspense, revenge, and tension that keeps you intrigued for the whole run time. The story is structured cleverly, revealing individual characters' motives by them telling personal experiences that may or may not conflict each other's stories. Hanshiro Tsugumo is a badass character that gets himself in a rough situation, except he knows exactly what he has gotten himself into. Tatsuya Nakadai once again shows how cool of an actor he is. I could listen to him talking all day. So soothing.

Man, Takeshi Kaneshiro is such a good looking dude. The fact that he's constantly being ignored by women in the film doesn't make any sense.

Chungking Express is a stylish, fast driven romance film about people that are trying to find love. The film is filled with energy and enchantment with likable characters and its quick jump cuts and edits that felt necessary, making the pacing feel swift and effortless.
Wong Kar-wai has a way of making you feel cool…
