Mank is a complicated movie for me.

I have a lot of love for the 30s and 40s in Hollywood when it comes to movies and learning about it. I spent a lot of my time in school studying the decades and becoming enthralled with the history and people involved during that time period. A mix between extreme wealth and extreme poverty and the ever-draining complexity of mixing money and art and morales; The 30s and 40s are the true…

The faint glow of the neon sign bathes the freshly wet pavement as you walk up to the store.

    Video Rental.

You bee-line for the section you know best. Marked by a neon-pink ducktape slip, the adult section is separated by a doorway bead curtain and has flashing primary colored lights and weird sex music playing that isn't quite jazz but could be misconstrued for being a Kenny G single.
A couple of tapes are on the shelf, but for…

If you are a fan of 80s horror movies from America there is no reason to watch this. It's a highlight reel for 4hrs with nothing interesting to say about them other than how cool it was. Idk, I'm a grumpy Boi, but mostly because this is so long.

It's frustrating because I wouldn't suggest this to people who are new to the genre because it spoils so much. But I would also not suggest it to genreheads either because…

I hate being that guy, but the historical inaccuracies were actually so infuriating it drove me up the walls. The movie has nothing interesting to say about napoleon besides that he was a wet towel, and gets so many things wrong. I'm not some napoleon fan boy here, but if you can't even get basic facts right in a biography film then why bother. It also chooses to omit entire places in history for no reason either. Maybe the directors cut will be better and flesh this weak ass movie out, but my cinema balls and tingling towards a heavy no.

IDK maybe I'm no fun, but this was just nonsense anime babble with embarrassing lines and animation at times, it's just too much "anime", you know what I mean?

I like Evangelion, but I wouldn't consider myself a cheerleader ya know? I probably should have rewatched the rebuilds for this one, but I just don't like them enough to care.

This had some really nice moments and crazy action and then freaking terrible moments. It was completely spastic for me…
