A range of films regarding Scotland, casts a wide net to include those shot or set in Scotland and those with Scottish content. This includes the likes of the haunting comedies of Will Hay, Arthur Askey and Old Mother Riley set in Scottish castles but with not a frame set in Scotland and Nine Men, which is set abroad but has plenty of dialogue relating to Scotland.

There are some films listed by McBain I haven't seen so can't verify the Scottish content like Seven Days' Leave. It is a Barrie play, but the Scottish protagonist played by Gary Cooper has been made Canadian in the movie. I also remember The Kidnappers as set in Canada. I have left them in deference to McBain until I get a chance to ckeck them out.
I've left out stuff filmed in Scotland so no 2001: A Space Odyssey or Glasgow as Philadelphia in World War Z. I've also included films which aren't shot in Scotland but include a few seconds of footage labelled as Scotland, like Follow the Boys and Carry On Dick.
It is a list in progress as so many films are not yet on the database.
Here's a sample of films still to be added to the database
