    The Twilight People

Very Dr. Moreau, and odd in the sense that our seeming protagonist disappears for a huge chunk of the movie. I didn't mind though because it left the main woman as the focus as she tries to corral all the animal people to safety as best she can. It's pretty doofy but I liked the bat guy, and antelope guy turning and kicking people like an antelope would was pretty great.

  • Red Christmas

    Red Christmas

The themes in this were just so muddled that I honestly could not tell if it was supposed to be pro or anti abortion, what it was trying to say about ableism if anything, it was all just so messy and unclear. That paired with the two PoC they managed to put in both dying right off the bat, and no family members being particularly likable, all just made for it being meh.

Shout out to my mom though for dealing with my bullshit putting this on while we worked on a craft for kiddos for storytime.

    tw/cw: blood/gore/body horror
    abortion themes

  • The House Where Evil Dwells

    The House Where Evil Dwells

While surprisingly less racist than I was sure it'd be, it was wholly underwhelming. The only thing that stood out at all was a strange scene where the daughter is slowly chased down by giant crabs chattering in deep voiced Japanese.

    tw/cw: blood/body horror/decapitation

  • Superbeast

The most interesting thing about this is that it's Filipino, but unfortunately nothing else is particularly interesting or stands out at all. It's a shame tbh. :(

    tw/cw: body horror

  • Christmas Inheritance

    Christmas Inheritance

The most frustrating thing about this one was the fact they cast a PoC as her snobby asshole fiance instead of as the nice down to earth guy she falls for.

That and/or the fact that Ellen is so over the top clueless about how the world works, I find it hard to believe that rich kids are THAT unaware of how things work.

    tw/cw: none rly

  • Stepfather II

    Stepfather II

I wish Matty would've been smarter about the info she found out and not gotten murdered, but hey. Doofy fun and a nice break from all the soul-crushing from the latest few movie's I've watched tbh. And baby Jonathan Brandis looking essentially like Bill!

    tw/cw: blood
    suicide implied

  • Night of the Blood Beast

    Night of the Blood Beast

I love this one tbh. Shrimp babies!!

  • The Day the Earth Froze

    The Day the Earth Froze

  • Dark Tower

    Dark Tower

Not a lot going for this one, unfortunately. It wasn't bad necessarily, it just didn't have enough oomph to it in any area to make it memorable.

    tw/cw: body horror

  • Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare

    Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare

I'm gonna be real here, if the twist in this had been in a better movie it actually would've been really interesting??? Like I could see someone taking it to a Cabin In The Woods-type place if done right. But it wasn't and this was garbo.

    tw/cw: body horror
    nudity (so many tiddies)

  • The Mummy

    The Mummy

Sofia was the only good thing and she wasn't even utilized well enough!!!!!!!!! ugh

    tw/cw: body horror/eye scream/body horror

  • The Greasy Strangler

    The Greasy Strangler

[softly but with feeling] what the fuck

tw/cw: nudity (full on, dicks out, boobs out, all of it)
    body horror/eye scream/blood
    sexist slurs
    pedophilia/child molestation mention
