I am truly baffled by the amount of praise this film received from horror film lovers whose opinions I appreciate. Genuinely, and truly not trying to be mean in any way, I can't wrap my head around what there is to enjoy.

While I will absolutely acknowledge that timing is a factor, as having incompetence sited as the reason a white woman cop murdered a 20 year old Black man rather than supposedly taser him as intended makes it hard…

I can't believe this Dracula really looked at Teresa Graves and was upset in any way, what awful taste!! She was lovely in this though, it's a real shame that on top of the racism surrounding her character they topped it off with blackface, yeesh. Vampira herself gets 5 stars in my heart.

The problem with this film is mostly it trying to straddle both illustrating the Confederate white supremacist cannibals as the bad guys, but also making them both a) the source of humor and b) weirdly giving them a reason that is sympathetic by indicating they were ""innocent"" Confederate people. On top of that, it would be one thing if they were only killing the initial three white college boys who are misogynist assholes, but then they add in a polyamorous…

The only interesting thing about this was that she was gay tbh and even that wasn't enough to warrant her sister being raped for motivation purposes.

  • Screams of a Winter Night

    Screams of a Winter Night

    ★★

As many have noted, this is only a horror anthology in the loosest of terms. The wrap-around story is really the focus most of the time, with little runtime given to the stories being told. The people in the wrap-around are themselves in the stories they're telling which is sort of neat, but unfortunately it all gets buried in the fact that none of them are likable/interesting, and the stories themselves aren't really anything special. I think watching this in…

The bonkers ass fucking decisions made by the characters in this film are incredible in the worst way. It almost feels like they were trying to make a flipped horror film where the perspective is from the killers, but it's not clever enough even if that was the intention. The protagonists are just so fucking WEIRD and constantly make the worst decisions possible.

Why does she fuckin go to the store, open and eat a candy bar, and then go…
