    Holy fuck

    tw/cw: blood

  • The Vigil

    The Vigil

This is precisely why getting more diverse voices in horror, or really any other media, is so important. While the base elements this explores are familiar, the depth and uniqueness that gets added to it purely through coming from an entire cast and crew of Jewish people infusing it with their experiences and trauma makes it something wholly unlike anything else. It's a beautiful, heartwrenching look at the generational damage done by antisemitism, while also being incredibly effective in being extremely unnerving and creepy as well. It's so excellent.

    tw/cw: body horror/blood

  • Love and Monsters

    Love and Monsters

Mavis I love you....... this is the second night in a row I've gotten emotional about a cute robot. :(

This was an excellent mix of fun and good tension. Great monster designs, and nice monsters! It was just genuinely really delightful. And the dog lives!!!!!!!

    tw/cw: bugs/insects

  • Space Sweepers

    Space Sweepers

Bubs I would die for you......................

Don't be fooled by the generic video game-y sounding title, this film is top tier found family goodness. It also made me cry.

    tw/cw: epilepsy warning probably

  • Tangerine

I was not anticipating how wild and rough this film would be, and that it would really lean into humor more than drama per se, but I think it worked to make something that feels incredibly raw and human. Every character in this feels very real and genuine, particularly the two trans women, who are ultimately the most important and heart of the film.

    tw/cw: transphobia/homophobia/cissexism/etc
slurs of the above and also racist ones

  • Finding 'Ohana

    Finding 'Ohana

Really sweet and heartwarming, while being genuinely funny as well without it being at anyone's expense. Pili is such an endearing and scene stealing lead.

    tw/cw: spiders

  • Alucarda

I personally think more media should have satanic vampire lesbians tbh.

    tw/cw: blood
    lots of nudity
