Serious question: Is Lady Bird the prequel of Frances Ha? It would explain a lot, actually.
Having been recently exposed to the work of Greta Gerwig, this movie flew out of my radar most of the year. When everyone started praising the hell out of it I became REALLY curious. "What the hell did everyone saw in this film to love it THAT much?" I asked myself.
Well... A lot actually.
Saying that I loved it comes short about how I really felt like watching it.
I know it's geared towards mother-daughter(s), but I'd be lying if I said I didn't live those struggles of having a similar relationship through most of my life.
This goes straight to my Best of 2017 list. I strongly recommend it.
Ps: Who would've thought I'd be praising the hell out of a movie starring Saoirse Ronan? I know my hate is unfounded and it's not really her fault, but that role in Atonement really fucked me up, lol.
