Often when you rewatch a movie you notice things you didn’t catch the first time around.
For example in this movie I noticed that everyone’s sneaker game is fire.
Also I didn’t remember how sad this story was.
And I really disliked Eivind this time around. He was a fun fling for Julie but when they got into a relationship his flaws were too overpowering, like his extreme environmentalism and lack of depth (i.e. when he brushes off Julie’s attempt at a conversation with an “i love you” and rolls over). He and Julie didn’t have the same connection as she did with Aksel and it really shows the 2nd time around.
Speaking of Aksel, I really appreciated his character. Aksel: I’m so sorry for how I thought of you during my first viewing. You’re a kind, forgiving, mature, deep, creative man whose only flaw is that he’s bit pushy (“have my babies!!!”) and likes drawing weird sexual comics about a cat? Sure it’s weird but everyone has their quirks. Like Jim Davis - another lover of cartoon cats. May we all find our own Aksel someday. 😌
