    sensational. maybe it’s because i’ve been bogged down by recent biopics, but i’ve never seen one remain so consistently deft over such a staggering run-time. echoing what others have said about this feeling like several films in one (moments after jokingly messaging my friends that “there better be a musical number or else”, Spike Lee and Denzel Washington started tap dancing—which absolutely decimated me).
