Dressed to Kill 1980
i'm not so totally certain that this is 100% transphobic because it actually provides a lot of surprisingly accurate info about the existence of trans woman and transitioning for trans woman for 1980 but that doesn't mean it's great rep either? mostly the message to me was just don't live in NYC because you will get assaulted <3 do love the deeply transmasc coded braniac son tho he's a winner of a character

certainly smarter people than i have already written more than i feel compelled to about this movie, but it's great and i love lynch's obsession with dudes whose faces are kinda fucked up. also extremely obsessed with the tailgating scene

WELL.... i have complicated feelings about this, especially because lgbt cinema is like...my thing. my thoughts are a mess, so, in bullet point form:
- i KNOW this is made for a cis audience, which i am not which... eternally frustrates me when watching things like this but you know i get it. but it does reinforce the fact that i never want to make queer art for a cishet audience (sorry, that's how i feel pose is!)
