Jordan Peele wins me over again with his third feature; Nope. A movie that is equal parts, creepy, funny and fascinating.

Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer shine in this sci-fi/horror about a Hollywood horse-for-hire ranch owner that is dealing with strange phenomena happening around his home. I think it's best not to give away too much for this one as it doesn't go in the direction was expecting and was pleasantly surprised by the way it all unfolds.

Peele seems to be a big fan of the genre and I appreciate that his references throughout are never throw-away moments and actually mean something to the film. He plays with the genre tropes and doesn't look down on his audience.

Nope is tons of fun and its energy is backed by a score by Micheal Abels that is rousing at times and unsettling when it needs to be, I loved the mix of tense strings and western horns. This is a soundtrack that I will be revisiting over and over again.

Academy Award goes to the TMZ guy's dedication to getting a shot.
