The Lair of the White Worm

The Lair of the White Worm ★★★

Angus Flint digs up a mysterious skull that he speculates could be that of the White Worm. The Lady from a neighboring property takes interest in the skull, drawing Flint and friends into a plot of Fever dreams and ritual sacrifice.

Lair of the White Worm is such an odd folk lore tale of snake-Vampires and a giant Albino Snake that has ties to the crucifixion of Christ. Staring a very young Peter Capaldi with long shaggy hair and Hugh Grant with his mono-brow. It is weirdly erotic but incredibly unsexy at the same time as Amanda Donahoe's character seduces people to use in sacrifices.

The movie is sprinkled with bizarre dream sequences, one for example has Jesus being constricted on the cross while a bunch of nuns are raped by soldiers around him, this scene really has nothing on the Hugh Grant dream sequence that legitimately felt like a real dream. The effects for these are mostly terrible which really adds to the strangeness of it all.

Academy Award goes to the spikey tusk strap on.
