Paul Elliott’s review published on Letterboxd:
Eddie Murphy makes a winning and sparkling return to form in this biographical comedy of cult 70s blaxploitation star Rudy Ray Moore. It’s a tremendously entertaining act of admiration and crammed with unique friendships and unlikely partnerships. Scripted by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Big Eyes) and directed by Craig Brewer (Black Snake Moan) as well as co-starring a delightful Wesley Snipes as a highly strung director, while Chris Rock and Da'Vine Joy Randolph coalesce into a tremendous supporting cast. This is a movie brimming with kind-heartedness.
