Paul Elliott’s review published on Letterboxd:
Daffy Duck, helped brought to life by the voice skills of the legendary Mel Blanc, finds himself confronting the repercussions of the unpredictable impulses of the animator in this Chuck Jones directed short. It's overflowing with gushing amounts of self-referential humour, with the animator whimsically morphing the backgrounds and costumes and obliterating the fourth wall. While this has been recycled now to the point of tedium, in 1953, it was fresh and innovative. Daffy's famed short-tempered trait is comically exploited as he improvises madly to match his continually changing surroundings. Duck Amuck is animation at its finest and is, without a doubt, one of the most extraordinary Looney Tunes shorts of all time.
