Paul Elliott’s review published on Letterboxd:
Created without the use of a camera and composed entirely of lifeless insects, parched leaves and other assorted waste glued together on a film strip and then sandwiched between another strip with perforated tape, this short film by Stan Brakhage is an impressive display of experimentation. The projection of a passage of light through the film strip results in creating an almost mesmerising arrangement of images. While the speed of each frame makes it impossible to pin down what is exhibited with any precision, the viewing of the consequential film is akin to watching an extraordinary dance of patterns and silhouettes.
