Every time I revisit Donnie Darko I become more and more at a loss for words to describe its genius. I know it's a general consensus that this is a one hit wonder for Richard Kelly, but when it's this good I don't think anything else needs to be proved.
Moved. I think that's all I can definitevely say. I'm always moved by it. It's as transportive as film can be, and in my opinion worth your time and efforts to understand it because it has so much to say. I don't think I've ever quite realised the profound effect it's had on me until I started trying to write this and noticed I simply couldn't verbalise any of what I'm feeling. This is just, hands down, one of the best films ever made
