the “story by tom hardy” at the end really made this movie. any criticisms or questions i had prior to seeing that were immediately dispelled on sight.

i love them but their older films always give creepy twins from the shining vibes no matter how sweet or innocent their characters are

This movie is much better when you think about what it could be. It wasn’t bad, but definitely could have been better.
Always love a good pre-code talkie though! Loved the part when during the massive fight scene that one guy was hanging off the edge of the merry-go-round and hitting people with a bat as he went by.
Can’t help but feel a bit disappointed at Clara Bow’s last film though, but I see why this would have been popular with the audiences of 1933.

was kinda psyched to see this on hulu because i used to be super interested in this so i put on the trailer and was like “is this... the right trailer?” and apparently it was because i put on this shit show and it was just as bad (if not worse) than the trailer... yikes! it’s not even fun like low budget horror films are y’know? it was just a super shitty... documentary?

yep, still just as completely soul crushing and anxiety inducing as the last time i watched this.

truly, how is this movie so perfect and amazing and yet i can’t watch it without ending up on the brink of another mental breakdown? thomas vinterberg is still a genius.

I was going to say “must a movie be good? is t it enough to simply have fun?” but then I realized this movie is actually genuinely perfect and flawless I love it with my entire being no movie can ever top this.
