Enjoyable, if a little bit listless in its already-short runtime. The scene near the end with Big D and Lam Lok fishing is like god-tier Johnnie To, though.
When it’s being a dopey hopeful joyous kaleidoscope it’s spectacular, but it never really gels together as something with a driving forward pulse. Enjoyed hanging out with Diana and Steve, though. Wiig rules, Pascal is surprisingly flexible as pathetic loser and all-powerful god, and Chris Pine is just Harrison Fording up a storm.
The kidnapper-to-kid ratio in this town is WILD.
