    I love what this movie has to say about the thin line between the poor and the wealthy, and the way society frowns upon instances when that dichotomy is blurred. Right from the opening credits, which move in and off screen at right angles, the camera leering over the uniformity of Chicago's freeways only to be disrupted by the extreme close-up of the bees and the haunting proclamations of Tony Todd, Candyman establishes itself as a movie concerned with disruption.…

    There are a few bits of dialogue that I wish sounded more natural, but the wickedly inventive idea (the story and the trilogy of films), seamless genre mashing and relatable characters trump made me enjoy this the whole way through.
